Apple and Pear Class have been learning about the story 'Pirates Love Underpants' this week. In Maths, we have been learning to add two single digit numbers together and write them as calculations (6+3=9). In Literacy, we have been writing about treasure using our phonic knowledge and exciting adjectives. This week in PE we have been learning to bounce and catch a tennis ball with control and accuracy. In topic this week the children have made pirate ships using a range of materials and tested them to see if they floated or sunk. On Thursday we learnt about the Queen’s birthday. Today we have been learning about Earth Day and St. George's Day. Apple and Pear Class discussed climate change and how we can save the planet. We also listened to the story of St. George and the Dragon. The children have learnt why some people celebrate this day and why they wear a red rose in their button hole.
Monday 25th April - Vancols will be coming in to take group photographs of the children.
Friday 20th May - Apple and Pear Class will be having a PIRATE DAY. We would love for the children to come to school dressed as pirates to celebrate the end of our pirate topic.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
