Apple and Pear Class have been learning about the story of 'We are going on a bear hunt'.
In Maths, we have been learning to make comparisons between objects relating to size.
In Read, Write Inc, we have been learning to recognise and write 'm', 'a', 's', 'd', 't', 'i', 'n', 'p', 'g' and 'o'. We have also been using our Fred Fingers to segment and blend words like 'got', 'pot', 'pit' and 'pat'.
In Literacy, we have been ordering the settings from the story 'We are going on a bear hunt' and labelling them using our phonic knowledge.
In Topic, we have been making our own character puppets to help retell the story.
In PE, we have been continuing to learn how to travel through swishy swashy grass, a deep cold river, thick oozy mud, a big dark forest, a swirling whirling snowstorm and a narrow gloomy cave.
Next week, we will be continuing to learn about 'We are going on a bear hunt'. Yesterday we put on our wellies and coats and went on a bear hunt around the school field. We went through swishy swashy grass, a deep cold river, thick oozy mud, a big dark forest, a swirling whirling snowstorm and ended up in a narrow gloomy cave. We found a BEAR!! Luckily he was a fluffy, kind and friendly bear.
Teddy Bears - Next week we will be adding teddy bears and labelling parts of a bear using our phonic knowledge. Could your child please bring in a labelled teddy bear for the week to help them with their learning?
Hope you have a lovely weekend
