How lovely has the weather been this week?
We have had a busy week this week. As we loom towards the end of the school year, there are lots of activities and events planned for our Year 5 and 6.
In Literacy, we have continued to read the 100 - Mile - An - Hour - Dog by Jeremy Strong. We have been writing diary entries and researching different breeds of dogs. We have used role play to act out scenes.
In Maths, Year 5 have continued to convert measures and used this knowledge to solve problems. Year 6 have been solving problems whilst also making preparations for their end of Year 6 events.
We have looked at Isaac Newton and Galileo in science which helped us to understand some of the displays and exhibitions at the Science Museum on Wednesday.
We had great fun exploring about Space, Flight and Medicine at the Science Museum, despite the long journey home. It was great to actually be able to go on a school trip. Thank you to the parents who came with us.
We spent Friday afternoon outside in the shade learning team challenges and circle games. The children were amazing. We had great fun despite it being the hottest day of the year so far.
Year 6 had an assembly with a Police Support Officer to discuss transition from Primary to Secondary school, as part of our transition programme.
Year 6 only are to come into school in their PE kits every Monday as they are taking part in Lawn Bowls in the afternoon at the Maidstone Bowls Centre.
Have a lovely weekend.
