In Literacy this week, we have continued to read the story 'Kensuke's Kingdom'. It has got really interesting and we are loving it. We have written character descriptions for Kensuke and Michael; we have described Kensuke's cave. We have written from Michael's parents' point of view, in the form of an appeal to find him as he's gone missing. We have also had a class debate and researched Nagasaki (where Kensuke came from).
In Numeracy, Year 5 have been looking at negative numbers and rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000 and 100,000. Year 6 have been looking at negative numbers and learning to solve problems involving addition and subtraction of negative numbers.
In topic this week, we have continued to find out about islands and to name capital cities around the world. In Science we have continued to classify animal groups.
After school clubs for netball and athletics have now started.
The children should have their passwords for the apps we use. If you have any problems, please let us know.
Children should be in the school P.E. kit for P.E. and not tracksuits or football kits. Please ensure they have their P.E. kit on their P.E. day.
Trainers should not be worn to school. All children should be in school shoes.
Have a lovely weekend.
