This week, we have continued to read the City of Ember for Literacy. We have explored emotive language and feelings from elation to sadness to being terrified. We have planned and written descriptions. We have written letters and diary entries in the first-person. We also used role play to perform a plea using intonation, facial expression and body language.
In Maths, Year 5 have been learning about perimeter. They have been learning to measure and calculate the perimeter of composite rectilinear shapes in cm and m.
Year 6 have been converting fractions into decimals and percentages and vice versa.
For topic this week we have been looking at Dadaism in Art, exploring different artist's work and finding out some facts about them.
In PSHE we looked 'Goals' and how to set them. We had some great discussions about the goals we have.
In P.E. we are continuing with Tag Rugby.
At the end of the week, we had the pleasure of walking to Fremlin Walk to sing carols to raise money for Demelza. Despite being extremely cold, the children sang their hearts out and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who came to support us.
Have a lovely weekend.
