What a cold week this has been! Winter is definitely on its way.
This week in Literacy, as the plot thickens, we have focussed on facts and opinions and how to justify opinions. We have written predictions and descriptions. We wrote a letter to the Mayor expressing our anger as if we were Lina (the main character). Next week, we will be planning and writing our hot write.
In Maths, Year 5 have been looking at how to find the area of rectilinear shapes. They have been using standard units of cm2 and m2 to estimate the area of irregular shapes.
Year 6 have had a week of consolidating their knowledge and understanding of percentages and calculating fractions before we move on to co-ordinates next week.
We have continued to look at Dadaism in Art. We created our own artwork based on artists such as, Hannah Hoch and Marcel Duchamp. For RE this week, we found out about the meaning of Advent. We made advent calendars in groups and have swapped them, so each day we can open a calendar.
Don't forget to log onto Teams to find the home learning for the term.
As the weather gets cold, please make sure your child has named coats, scarves and gloves for their play times.
Have a lovely weekend.
