We can't believe it's March already! What a busy, fun week!

This week we have been reading Pig Heart Boy. It has given us great opportunities to have debates and discussions about how we feel about the story line. We have used role play to act out scenes. We have written diary entries and letters to put our opinions across but we have had to justify our reasons with evidence from the story or from our own beliefs.

In Maths, Year 5 have been looking at how to multiply fractions and applying their knowledge to solve problems.

Year 6 have been looking at measures. We have solved problems by converting measures to find mass, volume, capacity and weight. Also we had to find the perimeter and area of rectilinear shapes.

in RE we have been finding out about Lent and have created a jar of positive things we will do as a class in the lead up to Easter. The children are really enjoying this. So far we have had to be 'less noisy' and 'give someone a hug with their permission'.

In PSHE we have been looking at breaking the law and the justice system and used role play to act out a court case.

In PE we are doing dance and I have been amazed by everyone. They are enjoying the song and working really well in their groups to put a dance together.

We had a workshop with a visiting author this week. The children engaged really well and came up with a villain for their own story.

World Book Day was great. The children did so well with their costumes. Well done to Phoebe who the class voted as the winner with her homemade piglet outfit.

We have had some issues with children sending inappropriate message on WhatsApp groups. Please monitor your child's phone as WhatsApp is designed for 16+. We take this very seriously and I will contact parents if children are being unkind.

Children should not be bringing sweets or money into school. Please discourage this.

Thank you

Have a lovely weekend.
