What another fantastically busy week we have had!
In Literacy, we have continued to read Wind in the Willows. We have been writing character descriptions for Mole, Ratty and Toad. We have created our own woodland character that we will use when we write our own story. We have used dialogue when our character meets Mole, Ratty and Toad for the first time. We had a good class debate about whether Ratty and Mole should stay at Mole's house or Ratty's house, with suggestions to back up their opinions.
In Maths, Year 5 have been learning about factors, multiples and prime numbers. We have been learning to recognise and understand them. Year 6 have been looking at how to find fractions of amounts, what percentage means, and how to find percentages of amounts.
In Topic and Science, we have been looking at the water cycle, and water pollution. We have explored how rivers get polluted and how water gets filtered so it is safe for us to drink from our taps. We created 'polluted' water, then used sieves and filter paper to filter it.
