Another fantastic week with some great learning.
In Literacy, we finished reading The Demon Headmaster and discussed what we thought of it. We have written predictions, used inverted commas for dialogue and answered comprehension questions. Next week, we shall be watching some episodes of the series and planning, writing and editing our own versions of the story.
In Maths, Year 5 have been exploring improper and proper fractions, this proved tricky at the beginning of the week, but the children got to grips with it by the end of the week. Year 6 have completed their learning on algebra and have done exceptionally well. They have shown real resilience. It is really important that the children join ALL video calls, especially in Maths, because we teach the skills needed and demonstrate how to solve problems and calculations. We build up on the skills needed everyday, some children struggle because they miss a day of learning.
In Topic, we have completed our Science by looking at how the traffic light system works using electricity. We have discussed what conflict and resolution is in PSHE; we created situations and ways to resolve them. We had our first Well-being Wednesday. The children did activities ranging from colouring, painting, baking, gymnastics and going for a walk. The children are striving to earn points whilst improving their Spanish on Duolingo. In R.E. we continue to learn about Hinduism.
