The end of our second week has produced some fantastic learning (as ever!)
In Literacy, the children completed their newspaper front pages, completing a fairy tale story, often with a terrible twist! I was very impressed with the spellings achieved throughout the week linked to homophones.
In numeracy, Year 5 consolidated their understanding of formal written methods of multiplication and are steadily improving their speed of recalling times tables up to 12 x 12. Year 6 learnt how to find common denominators to order, add and subtract fractions.
In our Go with the Flow topic, we learnt about different types of bridges. The children designed a bridge they would like to build (and will actually build on Monday afternoon using the resources available in class!)
The rain held off Wednesday for PE on the playground and the children enjoyed various activities to get their heart rates pumping! Back in class, we also used the Speed Stacking Cups to much enjoyment.
See everyone Monday morning!
