End of Week 1 Term 3 7th January 2022

Welcome parents to our first blog of the new year!

We hope you and your families have enjoyed a restful, but enjoyable Christmas break and the children were raring to go on Wednesday!!

A shorter week for us all this week but the children have worked hard nevertheless across a range of subjects, including Literacy, Numeracy, History and Dance.

The children planned and wrote a story this week using the title 'The Hero Twins'. This is the actual name of our class text from next Monday and is based around a civilisation from over one thousand years ago that we'll be looking at in some detail this term (the Mayans from Mexico and Central America).

In Numeracy, Year 5 have been using mental strategies to assist with multiplication and division, such as doubling and halving, including decimals. Year 6 have been looking at decimals, fractions and percentages.

This term is a slightly shorter one than others, but the children have proved this week that they are ready and able to produce some excellent learning and we can't wait to see what they do in class in Term 3!

Have a great weekend, see you all next week

Mr Ramsden & Mrs Morris.
