Week ending Friday 10th December

Hello parents and children and welcome to the second to last blog of the year!

This week the children have completed an extended piece of writing linked to our class task (The City of Ember). They wrote in detail to describe both a setting and character and also incorporated speech into their learning.

In Numeracy, Year 5 had a fun week learning about Roman Numerals! We paired up with the other class of Year 5's mid-week on a problem-solving/secret message task linked to Roman Numerals and today that had the opportunity to write their own secret message using their understanding of Roman Numerals. Year 6 looked at co-ordinates this week, in addition to reflection and translation over 4 quadrants.

In PSHE, we looked at emotions and how the way we feel at a particular time impacts both on ourselves and others around us.

In Science, the class completed their PowerPoints linked to a famous scientist with Mr Bowles and in topic learning, the children paired up to conduct a TV style interview with their chosen inventor.

Next week is our last week of term and dates to look out for are Wednesday (Christmas Lunch) Thursday (carol service to parents at 2.45) and Friday (dress down day and class party!)

Have a good weekend everyone, don't forget to log onto Teams and complete the home-learning. Any problems, please don't hesitate to let me know.
