The last day of Term 3 is now upon us!! The term has rocketed through and I can't believe that we are now exactly half-way through the academic year.
In Literacy, the class planned and wrote a story (unaided) linked to their animal they researched last week and based it in Central America and the Mayans. All the features that we have talked about throughout the terms (the use of prepositions, expanded noun phrases, range of sentence structures, sentence starters and speech) were incorporated into their stories!!
Year 5 continued their learning on fractions, this week looking at fractions addition, including improper and mixed fractions. Year 6 again continued their learning of algebra, using addition, multiplication etc to solve problems.
The class worked well with their Mayan mask task, first paining and then decorating them in a particular style, such as 'celebration' or 'death' mask - we will have them on display both in the classroom and in the corridor from next term onwards.
We want to wish everyone a lovely half-term break. The first day back will be TUESDAY 22nd February!
Take care everyone
