Week ending Friday 12th November 2021

Week Two, Term 2 is now complete!!

We are well into our new class text (The City of Ember) and have been writing descriptively about characters and settings, using inference in our reading sessions also to further our understanding.

In Numeracy, Year 5 have spent the week investigating factors, primes, prime factors, square and cubed numbers! Busy, busy, busy!! Year 6 have looked again at fractions, including multiplication and division.

Mid-week, Year 6 enjoyed a very informative 'magistrates chat' where they were spoken to by a guest magistrate about the working of the law and the courts. He was particularly pleased with both the engagement and quality of questions from the children.

In history, we looked at inventions that have changed the world throughout the ages (from the wheel to the mobile phone and lots in-between!) and placed them in an order based on significance to the children. This lead to a fantastic whole-class discussion.

HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND EVERYONE

Mr Ramsden and Mrs Morris

PS Don't forget Home Learning is on Teams as of today and every Friday!! Any logging-on problems, of queries with the actual learning, please do not hesitate to ask.
