Week ending Friday 19th March 2021

The end of our second week back after lockdown is now upon us, and I would like to give a big shout out to the class for all the efforts made in (and out!) of the classroom this week.

We are over halfway through our class text ('Cosmic') and the children have written both letter and diary entries in 'role' and used inference and summarising strategies to further their understanding of the text.

Year 5 numeracy has looked at fractions and multiplication, with the learning getting progressively more advanced throughout the week and Year 6 looked at Ratio. Great learning achieved from both year groups!

In Science, Cherry Class investigated the planets in the Solar System and the concept of 'light and dark'. We used drama in the classroom to represent the orbiting planets and the Earth spinning on its axis! DT with Mr Bowles investigated Mars exploration and the children discussed their initial ideas to design and build a vehicle in the next few weeks of term!

On Wednesday, we teamed up with Cedar and enjoyed a very successful PE team building activities session on the playground, involving groups of 4-9 and hoola-hoops! Was great to see children working so well together to solve the challenges set.

Have a great weekend everyone and take care.
