Week ending Friday 5th November 2021

Well done everyone for all your efforts during our first week back of the new term.

In Literacy, we have started a very interesting new text called 'The City of Ember' that we will study in detail for at least the next 4 weeks! This week we looked at setting and character descriptions and have reached a most interesting stage of the story already................!!

In Numeracy, Year 5 have consolidated their understanding of multiples, factors, common factors and prime numbers whereas Year 6 have been 'hard at it' with regards to Fractions (ordering, comparing, converting, etc).

Our new topic is called 'What Price Progress' and we had a great classroom discussion as to the inventions they thought have changed the world and an art lesson linked to their ideas.

In PE our new topic is Tag-Rugby, but today the whole class ran a mile as part of an on-going fitness drive at Park Way! Good effort by everyone who completed the 5 full laps of the field in the afternoon sunshine.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

(Don't forget to read, read and read some more and fill in your reading record books!)

Regards

Mr Ramsden & Mrs Morris
