As we head towards Christmas and the end of the second term, the children have finished off their learning and are ready and prepared for a well earned break. This week we have completed our hot writes and the children have show cased all their knowledge about the pyramids by writing their own non-chronological report. They have also had a chance to write their own winter themed poems, which they have written up in neat.
For Maths this week the children have been busy consolidating their knowledge from the term, and completing some maths investigations using a range of skills from across the term.
We finished off our topic on the Ancient Egyptians by learning about the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb and all the treasures that were inside when Howard Carter first entered. The children wrote diary entries about the discovery, thinking about how Carter would have felt. We then ended the week with our class Christmas party.
We would like to take the chance to wish you and all the children a very safe and happy Christmas, and look forward to seeing the children again in the new year.
