What an amazing term we have had and what a tiring one!
This week we finished off writing letters as if we were eye witnesses of The Great Fire of London taking place. We wrote to a distant relative, using all the features of informal letters and really developed our vocabulary! Some new words we learned:
devastating engulfed tragic collapsed aid ablaze
We also continued to focus on our letter formation for handwriting and recalled the different forms of punctuation we have learned so far in Year 1 and 2.
Year 1 Maths
This week we looked at representing numbers in different ways either using concrete resources or pictures to help us. We also looked at reading and writing numbers up to 100 numerically and began to look at place value by ordering numbers up to 50.
Year 2 Maths
We have looked at 2D and 3D shapes this week in our lessons. We are able to explain the difference between a 2D and a 3D shape and can recognise and name common shapes found around us. We have also begun to look at the different properties that 3D shapes have.
