A huge welcome to pupils and parents starting in Holly Class this year!
It has been such an exciting start to the year and I want to say a huge well done to all Holly Class pupils for settling into the classroom and the routines so well. We have had so much fun this week, that it has sped by with all the outstanding learning taking place. We have focused on our writing skills in literacy which has included structuring sentences correctly and forming our letters. We linked this to our focus text 'The Pirate Cruncher' and wrote our own sentences to describe the greedy Captain Purplebeard and his dastardly crew! In maths, both Year 1 and 2 have been looking at their number knowledge and started to look at our number bonds in more detail. We have developed our own self-portraits, focusing on sketching to create our very own masterpieces and have begun to look at our topic this term 'Treasure Island'.
Home Learning has started this week and you will find this on your child's Teams page. Home Learning is handed out on a Friday and is due the following Thursday. If you need any assistance with this, then please do let me know either at the end of the day or via our class email address found at the top of our class page.
A huge well done for all your amazing learning this week and we hope you have a well-deserved rest this weekend.
