Term 3 week 5 blog

Hello :)

I just want to say a huge well done for your resilience this week. You have welcomed Oak Class into our live lessons and you have all been amazing!

This week has flown by with fantastic live lessons, discussions and outstanding learning. I have been so impressed with the level of learning being turned in and I have thoroughly enjoyed our wellbeing calls this week.

In literacy we have been busy looking at the alternative story 'The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig'. This has been a great story and we have used this to write letters to the pig telling him how shocked we were by his behaviour and how he should change his ways for the better! We can confidently identify the features of formal letters and have practiced writing an address to! We didn't stop there though and have been using our spelling knowledge and different conjunctions to make our writing awesome so well done!

Year 1 Maths

This week you have all been superstars and have finished our unit on representing numbers in different ways. You have practiced your 10 times tables and are getting better and better at recalling previous taught information :) I am really proud of the progress you are making and how you have begun to tackle challenges giving your reasoning behind your answers.

Year 2 Maths

This week we have started a new topic of fractions! You have been amazing with your learning and have successfully found fractions of shapes, identified fractions of shapes that have been shaded and started to find fractions of quantities. You have also been amazing with your times tables and finding 10 more and 10 less than any number up to 100!

The amazing learning hasn't stopped there! In the afternoons you have been busy with investigations into materials! You have explored how a solid material can change its shape through twisting, bending, squashing and stretching and designed and built your own bridges out of paper to test which design is the strongest! You have explored the different parts of a Sedar plate, explaining the meaning behind each piece and you have been active throughout your P.E. lessons.

You are outstanding learners and I cannot wait to see the learning you produce as we enter the last week of term next week :) Have a lovely and well deserved rest this weekend!
