Term 4 week 1 blog

Some lovely pictures from Wellbeing Wednesday :)

Hello :)

What an amazing first week back after a well deserved half term break!

I want to welcome you all back to term 4! Although we are starting remotely, I am so excited about seeing you all back in the classroom on the 8th March!

Despite starting virtually, that hasn't stopped the amazing learning taking place :)

This week we have started to look at information texts. We all drew a picture of a wild animal of our choice and then wrote what we knew about it! There was some amazing artwork and facts shared about our favourite animals :) We then looked further into what a fact is and how to tell the difference between a fact and an opinion.

Phonics/Guided reading

We have had a successful week back looking at writing independently and our fluency when reading! I have so enjoyed our live reading lessons and can see what amazing writers you will all be when we are back in the classroom!

Year 1 Maths

This week we have been recapping and challenging our understanding of counting in steps of 2 and 5. We have challenged ourselves throughout the week and our knowledge of numbers is growing by the day :)

Year 2 Maths

We have started a new unit on measure this week! We took to our houses using tape measures to measure using centimetres and metres! Well done for a great start to a new unit of learning :)

Remember it is World Book Day next week on the 4th

So dress up for our day of celebrating stories and remember to take pictures to send me! I can't wait to see you in your favourite book costumes :)
