Hello :)
A huge well done to Holly Class children this week for all their amazing learning and hard work producing some outstanding pieces of writing!
Literacy
This week we have continued to look at our focus text 'The Day the Crayons Quit' by Drew Daywalt who has fast become one of our favourite authors! We have taken inspiration from his book and suddenly, stationary from around the classroom including sharpeners, glue sticks and pencils have all been writing us letters about what is upsetting them and we have begun to write letters back!
Holly Class have really impressed me with their enthusiasm towards their letters and I cannot wait to see their final pieces next week!
Year 1 Maths
Year 1s in Holly Class have gone with the flow with week as they started to look at capacity! They are able to tell me what the measuring of capacity is and using non-standard units, measure and record the capacity of different containers around the school.
Year 2 Maths
Year 2s have had a great TIME this week as they have started to look at telling the time. We have made our own clocks, focusing on the different hands and what they mean. We have learned that there is 60 minutes in a hour and begun to look at telling the time to the nearest 15 minutes.
