Term 4 week 5 blog

Hello :)

We have had an amazing week both in the classroom and with the weather! So unlike a normal March and Holly Class have taken every opportunity to take our learning outside!

Literacy

This week we have finished our letters as if we were a piece of stationary in our classroom taking on the style of Drew Daywalt's 'The Day the Crayons Quit'. Holly Class have amazed me with how much they have enjoyed and taken on our focus text with some letters sounding like they were written by the crayons themselves!

Maths

Year 1's have been busy recapping addition and subtraction facts this week. We have been revising our numbers bond to 10 and 20 to support our learning as well. We can use pictorials to help up add and subtract numbers up to 50 and have begun to challenge ourselves by looking at missing number problems.

Year 2's have been just as busy continuing their unit of time. We have been focusing on telling the time to 15 minutes with some of us challenging ourselves to 5 minutes! We have also looked at the position of the hands on the clock when they minute and hour hands move which is amazing.

A huge thank you

A huge thank you for your kind and generous donations on Thursday which will be going into care packages for the residents of Loose Nursing Home. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of our class and cannot wait to deliver the packages to the residents next week!
