Term 4 week 6 blog

Hello :)

What a wonderful way to end term 4! I am so proud of all the learning taking place in Holly Class and think you all deserve a relaxing break!

In literacy this week we have been talking all things books! Everyone knows that Miss Beamish and Holly Class love reading and to spark our conversations we have been reading 'Superworm' by Julia Donaldson. Using this book, we have then discussed some of our favourite books, sharing our opinions, and listening to others, which has provided us with some lovely discussions around stories. With all these amazing books being discussed, we took the opportunity to write our own book reviews of some of our favourite stories giving amazing summaries of stories and great recommendations! Here are some of our favourite books to read:

  • Anything Julia Donaldson
  • Stuck by Oliver Jeffers
  • Elmer
  • Voices in the Park by Anthony Browne
  • George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl
  • The owl who was afraid of the dark
  • Owl Babies
  • The tiger that came to tea
  • Giraffes can't dance!

any so many more!

In maths this week, Year 1 and Year 2 joined forced to learn about mass. We are able to discuss what mass is measured in and have used our amazing skills to read scales and measure out ingredients to make our very own hot cross buns!

We hope they turned out as delicious as they looked baking them!

Term 5 starts on Tuesday 19th April 2022 - see you then!

Your home learning has been uploaded onto Team and is also here should you need it (Easter Home Learning) plus your handwriting guide if you need it.

P.E. is changing to a Thursday afternoon in Term 5 where we will have the coach. Please ensure that your child has their P.E. kit in school by Wednesday 20th. Correct uniform should be worn, long hair tied up and earrings removed on these days.
