Term 5 week 5 blog

Hello :)

A huge well done to all the children who completed some assessments with Miss Beamish this week, you have been outstanding and we are so proud of all your amazing learning!

This week we have continued to look at our focus text 'The Last Wolf' and have linked it to handwriting, punctuation and adjectives. Holly Class have also been focusing on their set 2 and 3 sounds, linking this to writing words and sentences and applied their sounds to both real and alien words!

Year 1 have continued to look at sharing (dividing) in their maths lessons this week with a focus on equal and unequal groups. They have used concrete resources to help them solve simple one-step problems involving division and have been really successful in their learning.

Year 2 have been revising their multiplication and division facts in their maths lessons this week and completed some problem solving activities.

This week we have continued our learning on plants. In geography we looked at the different continents around the world and how their climates affect the plants growing there and in science we have conducted a simple investigation to see what would happen to a plant if you took away something it needs to survive!

  • Home learning is set every FRIDAY and is due back the following THURSDAY.
