Term 4 so far

In the past few weeks, Maple Class have been very busy! In week 1, the children started a new literacy topic focusing on Escape from Pompeii, a text about the Mount Vesuvius eruption in 79AD. Next week, the children will be writing newspaper reports about the event and so they have been learning about all the different features of a newspaper report.

Last week, as it was World Book Day on 3rd March, the children explored the Roald Dahl classic of Matilda. The class produced some brilliant character descriptions and also had a go at drawing Matilda in the style of the book's illustrator Quentin Blake.

In maths, Year 3 have been learning about length and capacity and Year 4 have been learning about fractions!

Our Active Planet topic continues, the children have been learning about the Roman Empire and the impact the Roman settlement had on our country today. In science, the children have been working on their scientific skills and have completed some exciting experiments!

We hope that you have a lovely weekend,

Miss Watson and Mrs Chapman
