In Literacy we began to read our focus text 'Here We Are' by Oliver Jeffers. We chose our favourite wild animal and wrote facts that we knew about it. Some animals children chose to write about included the killer whale, platypus, koala and sugar glider. We have a very knowledgeable class and Miss Muddassir learnt a fact or two she didn't know for example that the sloth can turn its head completely upside down!

In Science this week, we discussed the four seasons and the changes that occur in each season. We talked about how trees grow and bloom during the Spring and Summer and begin to shed their leaves in Autumn and are completely bare and dormant during Winter. We also discussed how the weather changes in each season and how animals are affected in each season. For example, some animals go into hibernation during Autumn and some animals give birth in the Spring. We then wrote down the information we learnt and above you can see some fantastic examples of learning.

The children were encouraged to go out on a walk and look for early signs of Spring. You can see some lovely photos from these walks opposite.
