An excellent final week of the term completed.
Firstly I would like to say a huge WELL DONE to everyone in Rowan Class for the enormous effort put in during the first term of this year. We've really hit the ground running and we can already see huge progress, so well done and keep it up!
In Literacy this week the children have been planning and writing their own story related to our text: Flotsam. The children have focused on using powerful adjectives and tools to describe both characters and settings as well as implementing dialogue to further the story-line. The completed stories are amazing and packed full of the Year 5/6 writing elements that we've learnt about throughout the beginning of this year.
In Maths our Year 5's have been learning about time-tables and line-graphs and moving onto solve practical problems using these skills. Our Year 6's have been completing a practice SATS week to give us all an idea of our strengths and areas in which we can improve. A super effort by all!
In Science we've completed our microorganism experiment by recording our final piece of data and completing the results and conclusions section of our write-ups. It turns out that damp conditions really speeds up the growth of mould!
Have a great half term everyone. Please remember that Monday 1st November is a staff training day so we'll see you all on Tuesday 2nd November.
Stay safe and have fun.
