Walnut Term 2 Week 4

It has been another very busy week this week, with lots of amazing learning going on in all the classrooms. In Literacy we have continued our learning on Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx, and have looked at the use of personification and created characters and setting descriptions to create our own adventure stories. We have planned our own adventure stories and on Thursday and Friday we've created amazing adventure stories that we are very proud of, based on the story of 'Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx .'

In Maths, Year 4 have been looking at units of length and how to use these to add and subtract, including finding the perimeter of shapes. Year 3 have been looking at division methods and started to use the short division method / bus stop method.

In our topic we have been researching Egyptian gods of our own choices and compared the Egyptian schools to ours. The children have then produced amazing learning. In Science we have continued to look at light, and this week we learnt to recognise that shadows are formed when the light from a light source is blocked by an opaque object .

We hope you have a lovely weekend.
