On Tuesday 10th October we took part in our first sports competition of the new school year and our first football tournament in over a year! 9 boys from Year 6 kitted up and played in a competition held at New Line Learning against 21 other schools. The boys will tell you they were rubbish but actually they were brilliant. They showed great courage and heart in each of their matches (they played 10) and as a team they improved with every game they played. Their behaviour was fantastic, their team play was outstanding and they showed fantastic respect to all other players, adults and officials.

It was a fantastic afternoon and the team did themselves proud. We are continuing football club for the new term as we are hoping to take part in another football competition later in the year.

On Friday 23rd February, we had the exciting opportunity of taking part in the National League U11 Cup. This event was held at the Gallegar stadium, home to Maidstone United. Our team of year 6 boys had not played in a tournament since November but this did not show. They were amazing, played some fantastic football but unfortunately did not make it through to the quarter finals. They came away with a lovely medal to remember the event.

The boys were fantastic and were a pleasure to spend the day with. Well done to all of them for playing so well.

The team were also lucky enough to wear our brand new sports top which for an event is teamed with black PE shorts to give us a neater, more professional look. We will be seeing this top more as the year continues.

This was also the first event where we used Twitter to keep you up to date with results as they happened. We hope you will enjoy our sports tweets during future events.
