This week Apples and Pears have been continuing with their story ‘The Jolly Postman’. We looked at different types of post sent and focused on the card Goldilocks receives at the end of our story. We discussed different types of cards we may send and why. This led us to creating our own birthday cards and using our great phonics skills to write our inserts.
In Maths, we have been looking at the numbers 4 and 5. We started with representing these numbers in different ways, including a tens frame. Our next activity was to build a tower consisting of 4 and 5 cubes. The children then had to represent this on their fingers, showing which two numbers make 4 and 5. For example, 2 and 2 makes 4 or 3 and 2 makes 5.
In PHSE this week we have looked at the differences between us and our friends. We played a game of what I like and discussed if we had any similarities or differences with our friends.
We also did some retrieval about celebrations from last term and looked at what we remembered from Diwali. We discussed what this celebration was and practising some dance moves too!
Have a lovely weekend.
