What a wonderfully creative and busy week we have had in Year 3/4. The children have worked incredibly hard across all subjects and should be very proud of their efforts!
🎨 A Very Arty Week!
Art has certainly been a highlight this week. The children reflected on their previous designs and used them to create some fantastic cave art pieces for our classroom display. Their creativity and attention to detail have really shone through.

🏃 PE
We enjoyed taking part in Sports Day, where the children showed great enthusiasm, determination and teamwork across a range of activities. A special well done to our fastest Walnut runners! We also continued our sessions with Coach Ross, who has been helping us develop the skills needed for cricket. The children are making excellent progress and enjoying the challenge.

🔢 Maths
Year 3 pupils have been focusing on place value with numbers to 1,000. We have practised placing numbers on number lines, estimating, ordering numbers and counting in 50s. It has been great to see confidence growing with larger numbers.

In Literacy, we have been developing our use of similes, conjunctions and varied sentence structures to make our writing more engaging and descriptive. The children have produced some fantastic examples using the skills we have been learning.

We explored different types of teeth and learned about the important job each one does. The children enjoyed discovering how incisors, canines and molars help us chew and eat our food.

In RE, we learned about the Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi and why he is remembered as an important figure in history. We discussed his beliefs and how his peaceful actions inspired change.

Our Stone Age learning continued as we explored how life changed across the three stages of the Stone Age. We also created informative leaflets about Skara Brae, showcasing everything we have learned about this fascinating prehistoric settlement.

💬 Class Conference
During our class conference, we discussed the importance of maintaining an appropriate noise level during afternoon lessons. This is something we will continue to focus on as a class to help everyone learn successfully.

Our daily brain teasers continue to be a huge success. The children are becoming true Wordle superstars, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills, teamwork and perseverance each day!
