This week we have been learning about the story 'Stickman'. We started the week with a nature walk onto the field to use our senses (seeing, hearing and smelling) to describe winter and collect sticks for our creations. They started to come to life when we placed our sticks on the floor creating the shapes and positions of our stickmen. With some adult help, we glued them together and let our creations take off using different materials such as string and wool to decorate them. Lastly, we added eyes to really bring them to life!
In Maths we have been looking at numbers to 5 and how they are made up of different numbers. We played team games such as throwing the beanbag into the hoop and working out how many were in and how many were out, does it still total five? We used five little monkeys to act out one less and ordered Stickman number cards to 5, showing the missing number and what one more would be.
In PE we completed our first gymnastics lesson with the PE coach. We created tunnels and bridges. We used our bodies to make different positions and then connected our positions together using our hands, feet, legs.
Have a lovely weekend,
The EYFS Team.
