Term 4, Week 2

This week we have been learning about Shrove Tuesday. The children really enjoyed finding out what ingredients go into pancakes and trying one. We spoke about being safe when cooking and having an adult with us. We were so proud of how they all tried a pancake.

In Maths this week we have been focusing on the numbers 9 and 10. We used pictorial representations to show 9 and 10, we looked at which number would be more and less. We also looked at creating our own number book of all of numbers to 10 and how we could represent them.

In PE we are continuing with our tennis lessons. The children are becoming more confident with their tennis skills and listening to instructions.

On Thursday it was World Book Day. The children were amazing with dressing up and it was great to see all of their outfits. Our story was Martha Maps It Out, so the children visited three different countries. We went to Peru to visit Paddington and made marmalade sandwiches. We also visited China and created our own noodle recipes using our phonics skills and linking our story to Chinese New Year. The last country we visited was Italy and we focused on recipe books. We created our own pizzas and labelled our toppings. The children all had a passport and received a sticker once they visited each place! We had great fun!

We have named our Guinea pigs......... Stitch and Noodles. Welcome to the class!

Have a lovely weekend,

The EYFS Team.
