This week Apples and Pears have completed their bikeability. They have showed excellent listening skills and resilience when outside on the bikes. We are very proud of them; how they had a go and tried their best.
In Literacy, we have started our spring topic. We have been very happy to see the sun and the weather has started to warm up at the perfect time for us. We looked at what we thought spring was and created a mind map. We then used our phonics knowledge to label pictures about spring such as lambs, chicks, sun and so on.
In Maths this week we looked at building 9 and 10. Our first activity was looking at different pictorial representations of numbers and sorting them into showing 9 and 10. In our next activity, we looked at our book voting station and used cubes to vote for a book, we compared how many votes each book got and discuss which number was more and less. In our last activity, we drew our own representations of numbers 9 and 10. The children were great at showing different ways to represent their number, for example, 9 or 10 on a dice, fingers, cubes, dots and ten frame.
Thursday was World Book Day. The children explored our chosen text ‘Rapunzel’. We looked at what happened in the story and who the main characters were. The children chose different activities such as creating a tower using large or small construction items or drawing their own tower. We had lots of amazing costumes and a fun filled day!
Don’t forget it is our Mother’s Day stay and play session on Friday 13th March at 2:30pm.
Thank you for your continued support.
Have a lovely weekend,
The EYFS Team.
