Term Week 6 5.12.25

Please can you send in small recyclable boxes and bottle lids for our DT learning? We are making a car using pulleys over the next 2 weeks.
In English, we planned, wrote, edited and performed our poems for our hot write. We finished the week by looking at how to use colons and semi colons.
In Maths, we have had some lessons as a whole class due to school commitments and meetings. We have set a TTRS tournament amongst the 3 classes. Cedar Class have shown their competitiveness and have really got invested in winning. When we have been in our year groups, Year 5 have been consolidating their knowledge of fractions whilst Year 6 sat an Arithmetic SATS paper so they could see what the questions would be like and we discussed what we need more support with.
In Science, we continued exploring the human life cycle and we learnt about the aging process and what happens to our bodies as we develop into old age.
In Art, we created a collage and completed our learning on Dadaism. We also looked at Futurism and started researching artists in this Italian movement in the early 20th century.
In PSHE, we explored taking responsibility for our feelings. We looked at different scenarios, discussing how we would feel and how we would deal with our emotions.
PE is still going strong with fitness and tag rugby. The children are improving their scores in fitness every week and showing fantastic teamwork and determination.
Finally, a big congratulations to our Golden Book winners this week: Adrian for a big improvement in his attitude and behaviour towards his learning and improved handwriting. Jude for always trying his hardest, following schol rules and listening to adults.
