Cherry Class Blog 2025 26 Term 2 Week 1

Welcome back everyone to our first class blog of the new term.

This week has rocketed by and the children have been as busy as ever working on a range of activities and subjects across the school curriculum.

Literacy this term will focus on Poetry and the children this week had the opportunity to write rhyming poems linked to either fireworks night or Halloween.

In Numeracy, Year 5 finished their block of learning linked to multiples, factors, primes and multiplication and division by 10, 100 and 1000 and Year 6 consolidated their understanding of fractions.

Our new topic this term is 'What Price Progress' and we spent an enjoyable lesson midweek looking at inventions both old and new, and ranking them in a 'most important to least important' list.

In PE this week we had out first lesson on tag rugby in the sunshine yesterday and this morning we had a fitness session in the hall. In Music we investigated gospel music and in RE discussed what religious texts say about racism.

Have a great (Halloween) weekend!

regards, Mr Ramsden and Miss Stokes
