Welcome everyone to the mid-way point of Term 4 (unbelievably!) - only three more weeks to go until our Easter holidays.
In Literacy this week, the class moved away from the traditional tale of Ali Baba and instead read some of the new class text 'Pig Heart Boy' about a thirteen year old boy with a weak heart who urgently needs a heart transplant. We described the main character this week, and used drama in groups of 3/4 to represent one of the key scenes so far. We also used drama yesterday in a debate about whether the boy should have an operation or not involving a pig's heart.
Very different for Year 6 this week, who practised their SAT's during the Numeracy lessons, whilst Year 5 continued with their learning linked to fractions, decimals and percentages.
In RE this week, we investigated the challenges faced by Christians over the concept of forgiveness, which led to some interesting discussions about how forgiveness is not always that easy to practise.
In Science we had a fun practical lessons linked to birds and how they have adapted their beaks to the foods they eat. We use items such as chop sticks, spoons and tweezers to represent bird beaks and tried to pick up items such as pipe cleaners (to represent worms!)
In Spanish, this week we practised the days of the week and we went outside to play tennis as part of our PE curriculum!
Have a great weekend everyone
