Welcome everyone to our penultimate blog of the term!
I write this at the end of a very enjoyable last day of the week, having just got back from our school trip to Kent Life. We had a really good time, the behaviour in the main was excellent and both teachers that ran our workshops were impressed by the attitude and engagement of the class and the questions they asked.
The two sessions we paid for were both excellent. Firstly, we had a bread making session, where the children made their own bread rolls from scratch and the afternoon session was entitled 'From Field to Fork' and we had an interesting session in particular in the herb garden tasting unfamiliar herbs and leaves. The children really enjoyed hand feeding the enormous pigs on show and the sheep also and we had a short ride around the venue on tractor-drawn trailer!
We looked at reconstructed buildings from the Second World War period, including an Anderson Shelter and also a Victorian-age farmhouse.
It was a really enjoyable day and the children bonded well with one another and (hopefully!) learnt a lot of new things. The rain mostly stayed away and it was good to get out of the classroom for a change and see the children engage in a different environment.
Have a great weekend everyone
Mr J Ramsden
