Good afternoon parents and carers and welcome to our class blog.
Our first full week and I have been so pleased by the effort and outcomes of the childrens' learning and behaviour also. They have bonded well together as a class, and it has been an excellent start to the new term.
In Literacy, the children had the opportunity to plan a story involving a journey on a boat and wrote their story independently this week, using features such as character/setting descriptions, similes, adverbials and even dialogue.
In Numeracy, both year groups have been investigating place value and some of our Year 6's had a chance to put their understanding into practise when they sat their 11+ exams midweek.
In RE, we looked at how Christians perceive their God and in D&T we investigated food groups and the children designed their own 3-course meal, using ingredients from all five food groups.
In Science we looked at how plants are fertilized and drew botanical pictures of flowers and their various parts.
This morning we had a most enjoyable basketball lesson on the playground under the sun! Behaviour was fantastic, everyone listened so well and took on board the learning objectives linked to dribbling a ball.
Have a great weekend everyone
Regards Mr Ramsden and Miss Stokes.
