Hi parents, welcome to our latest classroom blog. We are now halfway through the term and will be showing just a small snapshot of our learning next Friday during our class assembly - see you in the school hall at 9.05am!

In Literacy we have read many pages of our class text Kensuke's Kingdom and the children had the opportunity this week to write in role as the main character Michael, after he finds himself washed up on a deserted island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

In Numeracy Year 5 investigated addition and subtraction, both mental and formal methods and then moved on to rounding and using the inverse to check a calculation. Year 6 investigated factors and prime numbers.

In geography we investigated the similarities and differences between Maidstone and St Lucia in the Caribbean in terms of human and physical geography. In RE we looked at good news / bad news stories in the Kent Messenger and linked it to Christianity.

Yesterday in the sunshine we had an enjoyable PE session of basketball and later that day practised our Spanish greetings!

Have a great weekend everyone
