Welcome everyone to our penultimate blog of this first term.
I know I often write the same 'thing' but it is true! The class have been busy working across a range of subjects this week and have worked very sensibly, in the main, and have produced some excellent learning. In Literacy we finished our whole-class text 'Kensuke's Kingdom' and the children this week had a chance to act as reporters and interviewees, both asking and answering questions in role.
Year 5 maths this week involved multiples and factors, whereas Year 6 looked at long division. Both skills involve the understanding of times tables and we have been busily practising these also in class.
In Science, the children investigated 'unusual' animals, animals that belong to one animal group (e.g. a platypus, who is a mammal, but shares characteristics with another animal group, as it is born from an egg!)
In Spanish we looked at Spanish numbers and practised speaking them out aloud, and in Geography we used 4 and 6-digit map reference points to identify places of interest on an Ordnance Survey map.
We had a large-scale basketball match between ourselves on the playground yesterday afternoon and this morning we even managed to do some yoga!
Have a great weekend everyone
Regards
Mr Ramsden and Miss Stokes
