Welcome one and all to our 'third to last' blog of this year! Seems strange typing this, but the way the days and week are rolling by it won't be long until we break up in a fortnight's time.
Before I let you know about the learning this week, a plea please for any cardboard you may have spare at home....the children are designing and making cars next week and we need cardboard to help in the build process! Anything will help, from a tissue/cereal/shoe box to anything bigger. Please may we have them either Monday or Tuesday morning, thank you.
In Literacy this week the children planned and wrote an independent poem which (hopefully) included elements of figurative language such as similes, metaphors, personification and rhythm, although not necessarily rhyme.
In Science we investigated 'old age' and the changes that occur as people get older. An interesting discussion was held with regards to what age IS 'old age' (and I was a little bit put out to find my own age bracketed in the 'old age' category!)
In PE the weather took us inside where we have had some lively fitness and benchball sessions and in History we found out about remarkable Muslim doctors and surgeons who invented medical tools - such as forceps - that are still in use today.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE
