In our Literacy this week we have been learning about poems and rhyming couplets. We started by looking at a narrative poem which used rhyming couplets and identified the rhyming words and the themes. We then had a go at writing our own poems about Christmas and tried to incorporate rhyming couplets into them.
In Maths Year 4 have been consolidating their understanding of rounding to 10, 100 and 1000, ordering and comparing numbers beyond 1000 and area of rectilinear shapes. Year 3 have been looking at the relationship between the 2, 4 and 8 times table and how to use these facts to solve problems.
In History we learnt about the significance of Tutankhamun's tomb and how it's well preserved treasures and hieroglyphs told us so much about Ancient Egyptian life. In computing we learned about using our coding and programming knowledge to design and make a game on Scratch. In our Art learning we learned about how to apply paints to create texture. We used sponges to paint the outside of our tombs to give them the effect of stone.
We hope you have a lovely weekend,
Mr Saunders, Mrs Hendry and Miss Parkes.
