Autumn Term 1 - Week 2

Week 2

Hello everyone! We have settled in well this term, and the real learning has begun!

In Maths, the Year 1s are exploring place value by recognising the 'teen' numbers and representing them with cubes on a Tens Frame. They've discovered that these numbers are essentially made up of 10 and 'a bit' more! Meanwhile, the Year 2s are revisiting the place value of numbers up to 20 and are learning how to spell these numbers in words.

In English, we’re diving into 'The Pirate Cruncher' by Jonny Duddle, sequencing the story and adding some new vocabulary to our repertoire. Why not ask us what 'golden dubloons' or 'unfurled' means?

In Science, we’ve been investigating waterproof materials, and in Geography, we've learned about the seven continents—there is a catchy song which has been a great help!  Get your child to sing it to you!!!

Looking forward to sharing more adventures with you!
