Spring Term 1 - Week 2

Week 2

This week in English, we delved into the digraphs ’oi’ and ’oy’. We discovered that ’oi’ typically appears in the middle of words, while ’oy’ usually comes at the end, with exceptions like the word “ROYAL”. We also practised setting out the receiver’s address correctly, when writing a letter, which helped us improve our capital letter formation.

In Maths, Year 1s explored number sentences within the same fact family, while Year 2s focused on using known facts to calculate multiples of 10.

In Science, we grouped objects into LIVING, DEAD, or NEVER BEEN ALIVE, presenting our findings as a block diagram. In History, we began learning about Florence Nightingale, and in R.E., we discussed the significance of sacred objects for Muslims and Christians. Finally, in P.S.H.E., we talked about our trusted adults.
