Week ending 27.3.26

Welcome to the Oak Class blog. This week has been filled with exciting learning adventures that we can’t wait to share with you.

In English, our budding poets have been exploring the art of writing poems using alliteration, rhyming and acrostic features. The creativity has been flowing, and it’s wonderful to see their imaginations come to life through words.

In Maths, we’ve been busy measuring, comparing and ordering lengths in metres and centimetres. The children have tackled problem-solving challenges using addition and subtraction, developing their mathematical skills in a fun and engaging way.

Our Geography lessons took us on a journey comparing Milan and Maidstone. We discovered the unique features of each place, from churches and football stadiums to shopping areas. The children learned that Milan is close to the majestic Alps, while Maidstone is nestled near the beautiful Downs.

In Science, we conducted a fascinating experiment to understand how germs spread, using glitter to demonstrate the transfer from hand to hand. This hands-on activity sparked great discussions about hygiene.

Finally, in PSHE, we explored the needs of pets and how to care for them.

The highlight of the week was making and tasting our own pizzas, which was a delicious way to wrap up our learning!

Have a lovely weekend.
