Term 1, Week 4 - 26/09/2025

Thank you to all the adults who came along to our class assembly this week. It was truly lovely to have your support!
In English, we’ve been diving into the fascinating world of 'Kensuke's Kingdom'. The children researched the animals that Michael would encounter in Australia and Africa and created informative reports. They even wrote diary entries as if they were Michael himself following the incident—do ask your children to recount the story to you!
In Maths, Year 6 has been exploring factors, multiples, division rules, and prime numbers. Don’t forget to check that home learning on MyMaths and TT Rockstars is completed! Year 5 is diligently working on addition and subtraction, applying the formal written method to tackle various problems.
In PE, football and basketball practice continues, and the children are thoroughly enjoying sharpening their skills in both sports.
During RE, we examined concepts of moral good and bad, alongside natural good and bad, and how these ideas tie into Christian beliefs about God.
In PSHE, we explored the meaning and origins of marriage, which sparked some fascinating discussions.
Science has taken us into life cycles, where we investigated the metamorphosis of insects and amphibians—how amazing it is that one creature can transform into another!
We also ventured into music with a focus on Calypso sounds from island nations. In Geography, we compared Saint Lucia to Maidstone—a small island with captivating geography!
This week’s Gold Book winners are Felicity, for her respectfulness and high-quality learning, and Samyok, for his enthusiasm and inquisitive nature.
As a reminder, please ensure all home learning on Reading, TT Rockstars, MyMaths, and Spelling Shed is completed—thank you!
