Term 2, Week 7 (12/12/24)

A big shout-out for all the boxes you’ve sent in – we now have plenty to finish our DT projects next week! 🛠️📦

📚 English Update
This week, we’ve been diving into GPS (Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling)! ✏️ We’ve mastered using brackets, commas, and dashes for parenthesis, explored apostrophes for contractions, and even tackled modal verbs, hyphens, and relative clauses. Now we work on applying all these skills in our writing! 🖋️💡

➗ Maths

• Year 5: have finished fractions! 🙌 Using all four operations to solve tricky problems – amazing work!
• Year 6: have been focusing on Ratio! 🔢 We’ve learned how to calculate ratios and even looked at scaled drawings. 📏

🔬 Science
We wrapped up our learning on the human life cycle by creating timelines of the aging process. 👶➡️👵

🏰 History Highlights
We discovered Al-Zahrawi and his incredible impact on modern medicine. 🏥💊

💬 PSHE
This week’s theme: Giving at Christmas 🎄✨ We explored why giving feels so good and the emotional benefits it brings. ❤️

🏃 PE Power
Tag Rugby and Fitness have finished✅ we will spend the next few lessons working on teamwork challenges! 🤝

• Thu 18.12.25: KS2 singing Christmas songs 🎶 on the playground for parents (end of day)
• Fri 19.12.25: Last day of term + class Christmas parties 🎉 in the afternoon
