Term 3, Week 5 (6/2/26)

๐ŸŒŸ This Week in Class! ๐ŸŒŸ

What a busy (and very exciting!) week we've had! Letโ€™s dive into everything weโ€™ve been up toโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€โœจ

โœ๏ธ English

This week, we turned into top-notch interviewers! ๐ŸŽค
We wrote questions weโ€™d love to ask the Hero Twins, then became them through role play to figure out how they might respond. So much drama, acting, and creative thinking! ๐ŸŽญโœจ
We even acted out scenes from the story โ€” plenty of giggles and brilliant performances!

โž— Maths

Year 5 have been smashing their work on fractions of amounts and learning how to use fractions as operators. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿงฎ
Year 6 have had a full-on fractions bonanza!
We explored:

  • Equivalent fractions
  • Fractions as division
  • Converting fractions into decimals
  • Understanding percentages
  • Changing fractions into percentages

๐Ÿ”ฌ Science

Our investigation this week was explosive (in a safe way ๐Ÿ˜‰).
We mixed Bicarbonate of Soda and Vinegar to observe an irreversible reaction that creates Carbon Dioxide.
How do you check for COโ‚‚? Inflate a balloon with it, of course! ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿ˜„
The children LOVED watching the reaction, and we wrote up our scientific findings too.

๐Ÿบ History

We stepped back into Mayan times to explore the roles of men and women in society.
The biggest surprise? ๐Ÿคฏ
Women could be rulers, priests, and even warriors โ€” though with strict rules attached! A fascinating lesson!

๐Ÿ•Œ RE

We revisited the 3rd Pillar of Islam: Zakat.
The children learned why Muslims give 2.5% of their wealth to help those in need. A lovely session on generosity and community. โค๏ธ

๐Ÿคธ PE

This week we practised travelling safely on the apparatus in Gymnastics.
A reminder: children must take off shoes AND socks for safety. Some have been reluctant โ€” please help encourage this at home! ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ’› PSHE

We learned some super important basic first aid, including how to help someone who is bleeding. The children handled this topic with great maturity! ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŽถ Music

Our song โ€œMadina Tun Nabiโ€ is sounding better every week! ๐ŸŽต
We explored drones and melodies โ€” the children are really getting into it!

๐ŸŽจ Art

Our Mayan mask designs are ready to go!
Next weekโ€ฆ decorating time! ๐ŸŽญโœจ

๐Ÿ“ฑ Mobile Phones

Some children still do not have permission to bring a phone to school.
If you havenโ€™t filled in the Microsoft Form yet, here is the link:
