🔢 Maths Magic
Year 6 have jumped straight into area and perimeter, including finding the area of triangles. Next week… volume of 3D shapes! 📐🧱
Year 5 have been diving into decimals, and will soon move on to decimals and percentages.
On Thursday, our brilliant Year 6s became the teachers 👩🏫👨🏫 and helped Year 5 with their area and perimeter tasks—it was amazing to see the teamwork! 🤝
✍️ English Adventures
We’ve completed our Cold Writes inspired by our new text, Pig Heart Boy by Malorie Blackman.
We’ll begin reading it together after World Book Day!
🔬 Science
We explored evolution this week—what it means and how living things change over time. The children asked lots for great questions that we will try to answer over the term’s topic.
🍎 DT – Seasonal Food
We’ve started learning about seasonal foods, why they matter, and how they link perfectly to our upcoming Kent Life trip! 🥕🍓🍏
✝️ RE
In RE, we’ve begun exploring Christianity, focusing on Jesus’ teachings. ✨
🎾💃 PE Fun
In PE we’ve kicked off two topics:
- Dance – Mission Impossible style (the class loved Tuesday’s session!) 💥🕵️♂️
- Tennis – working on accuracy and technique! 🎾
🧠 PHSE
This term’s focus is Citizenship—how we can be the best versions of ourselves in the community. 🌍💛
🥁 Music
We explored drum beats, rhythm, and keeping in time with music. The classroom was full of energy! 🥁🎶
💻 Computing
We’ve begun looking at databases which leads to coding our own databases later in the term.
🎸 TT Rockstars Update
A tough one this week… we just missed out on beating Maple Class in our tournament. 😕
Some of Rowan Class didn’t complete their home learning over half term—so remember: TTRS for 5 minutes a day helps keep your skills sharp and brings us closer to that trophy! 🏆⚡
